Penta Foundation has two main wings. The Exam Preparation Wing imparts instructions on various exam preparation courses like
the TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, GRE and GMAT and the Placement Wing places students in various study destinations around the world.
THE EXAMINATION PREPARATION
WING
The Examination Preparation wing imparts high value courses in
the TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, GRE and GMAT. These examinations are entry
criteria at various levels of education in a host of nations
around the world- in particular, the English speaking ones. The
courses and their lesson plans were developed keeping in mind
the various guidelines and requirements of various examining
bodies. For instance, the IELTS exam preparation course was developed in accordance with UCLES (University of Cambridge Local
Examination Syndicate) guidelines and the TOEFL in accordance with the skill- based ETS (Education Testing Service) approach.
THE PLACEMENT WING
Once the students have sat for their final exams in various
subjects at the local testing centers in Kathmandu, Penta
Foundation counsels prospective students
for their higher education in foreign countries. To select the
right college and university for a Nepali student is very
difficult, but well-trained counselors provide all the necessary
information about colleges and universities and the lengthy
processing system for the student visa application in various
embassies.
The student counselors undergo an intensive training before they
are delegated to provide any information on colleges or
universities in the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand,
Germany, Ireland, Canada, Cyprus and Singapore. The counselors assist the
prospective students in obtaining the necessary documents prior
to applying for admissions in a foreign university or college.
They then counsel students on putting together the best-case
presentation possible to obtain a student visa to study at
international colleges and universities. Regular seminars are
held at Penta Foundation by various international colleges and
universities to inform the students about the courses that are
available in these colleges and universities. In addition, the
general ways of life in the country in question, its culture and
religions, the cost of living and the student visa application
formalities are explained explicitly.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY POLICY
Penta Foundation is an equal opportunity employer. It does not
discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion, sexual
orientation or disability in staff recruitment or student
intake. The recruitment procedures follow international
standards. Employees are given a copy of the Terms and
Conditions of Service document before appointment letters or
contracts are signed, and a copy of the induction packet is
presented to them by the Chief Administrator on the day of
joining the organization. The Terms and Conditions of service is
a comprehensive document outlining all the pertinent points for
the employee including his or her rights of appeal in case
disciplinary action be taken by the organization. The induction
packet introduces all the various departments of the
organization with a copy of the Health and Safety rules, the
Codes of Conduct and emergency actions to be followed in the
event of office closure in any event.
STUDENT SUPPORT SYSTEMS
The welfare and well being of students is vital for their
academic success. On the first day of enrollment, the Chief
Administrator gives a presentation to all new students about the
relevant courses they will need to attend, the system of the
classes, and an introduction to all other departments so that
they have a comprehensive awareness of the scope and nature of
their institute. In order to ensure the happiness and well being
of our students, Penta Foundation provides students with the
opportunity to communicate freely and confidently with the
teachers, management and staff. This process is encouraged
through regular interaction with students and through creating
an atmosphere where students feel comfortable and eager to
learn.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Maintaining the quality of staff employed at Penta Foundation is
a priority, and management values the advancements that can be
achieved through staff education programs. Various initiatives
have been implemented, and trainings for staff development have
been introduced at all levels of the Penta Foundation’s
hierarchy. The Human Resources Manager keeps a record of all the
trainings and courses the staffs have taken prior to joining the
organization. If the staffer needs any further training to
perform his or her job better, in-house trainings are conducted
to bridge the gap.
Quarterly reviews are conducted between the manager and the
employee to ascertain whether agreed objectives have been met
successfully or not. In the event of any poor performance,
guidelines are incorporated by the manager to assist the staff
to develop and carry out his or her job to the satisfaction of
the management. The staff members are given the opportunity to
speak to the manger in an ambient atmosphere and confidentiality
is maintained concerning all the matters discussed at any such
meeting.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
The first quality assurance framework deals with staff caliber.
In the interest of acquiring quality staff, all staff
recruitment follows a strict process involving rigorous
reference checks and a period of probation to observe the
caliber and integrity of the individual. To ensure the highest
quality of staff and the best education for our students, we
value staff members with international qualifications and those
who have worked in international organizations. Once the
staffers have been issued contracts, intensive in-house
trainings are given to them so that they may perform their jobs
and meet their responsibilities with confidence.
